# Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) — Server Overview

> Discover what the FWPD is, what on-duty officers do every shift, and the exact steps you need to follow to join the department on FWTXRP.

The Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) is the primary law enforcement department on the FWTXRP server. As an officer, you are responsible for maintaining order across the city — handling everything from routine traffic stops to high-speed pursuits and complex multi-unit scenes. The FWPD sets the standard for professional roleplay on the server, and every officer is expected to uphold that standard at all times.

## What Officers Do

As an FWPD officer, your day-to-day duties include:

* **Patrol** — Actively cruise designated areas of Fort Worth to deter crime and respond to calls.
* **Traffic Stops** — Pull over vehicles for violations, run plates, and issue citations or warnings.
* **Pursuits** — Engage in vehicle and foot pursuits in accordance with department pursuit policy.
* **Scenes** — Respond to and manage active crime scenes, accidents, and emergency calls alongside other units.

## Special Enforcement Unit (SEU)

The Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) is a specialized division within the FWPD. SEU officers have access to exclusive equipment and vehicles not available to standard patrol officers. Assignment to SEU is handled separately from standard FWPD onboarding.

<Note>
  The **FWPD High Vis Vest** is restricted to SEU officers only. If you are not assigned to SEU, you may not wear it under any circumstances.
