FWPD Uniform Standards for On-Duty Patrol Officers

Every officer who goes on duty with the Fort Worth Police Department must wear a properly configured FWPD uniform. Uniform standards exist to keep the department looking professional and to make officers immediately identifiable during roleplay. If you are not in a valid uniform, you should not be on duty.

Uniform Classes

The FWPD uses three uniform classes, all of which are FWPD-branded. Choose the class appropriate for your assignment or current situation.

Class A — Formal / Dress Uniform

The Class A is the FWPD’s formal dress uniform. You wear it for official ceremonies, command appearances, and any situation where a professional dress standard is required. It is not intended for heavy tactical use.

Class B — Standard Patrol Uniform

The Class B is your everyday on-duty uniform for general patrol. This is the most common uniform you will wear during a standard shift. It balances a professional appearance with the practicality needed for active patrol work.

Class C — Tactical / Utility Uniform

The Class C is the FWPD’s tactical and utility uniform. You wear it during operations that require more functional or protective gear. It is still FWPD-branded and must conform to department standards.

The following items are required on all FWPD uniforms, regardless of class. You must have both equipped before going on duty.

SEU-Restricted Items

The item listed below is not available to standard patrol officers. It is issued exclusively to members of the Special Enforcement Unit (SEU).
